This month’s animal rescue profile is for the cat lovers out there. It’s the Saving Animals From Euthanasia Team (Safe Team Rescue).
Established in 2010, SAFE is focused on rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned, abused, feral or unwanted cats in and around Alberta. Their mission is to educate the public on responsible pet ownership and save cats from euthanasia in various Alberta shelters.
SAFE provides all animals with vaccinations, deworming, micro-chipping, spay/neutering, any other medical procedures necessary, food, toys, litter and any other supplies needed until the animal has found their furever home.
Sadly, the city of Edmonton is experiencing a cat population crisis. There are too many feral and un-spayed/neutered cats out there that organizations such as SAFE are overwhelmed by the sheer number of animals coming into their care.
As SAFE is 100% volunteer based and a shelterless organization, they need people who can foster cats until they are adopted. If you are interested and able to foster, click HERE.
